Quintessence Yachts provides pioneering maritime solutions. The company has collaborated with international organisations within the yachting sector and more recently, they have teamed up with luxury car brand, Aston Martin, to create a new breed of sporty speedboat.

History of Quintessence Yachts

With headquarters in the Netherlands, Quintessence Yachts was conceived to provide exclusive maritime experiences relating to design, performance and style. The brand offers pioneering yachting solutions formed from extensive research and innovation.

Headed up by a multi-cultural management team with vast experience in the luxury yachting and motoring sectors, the business has enjoyed fruitful collaborations right from its inception. As well as partnering with international maritime businesses, Quintessence Yachts has recently worked with Aston Martin to create a luxury speedboat that is as striking and timeless as its cars.

Birth of the AM37 yacht

When Quintessence Yachts teamed up with Aston Martin and naval architects Mulder Design, they wanted to create a vessel that would match the power, beauty and soul of an Aston Martin vehicle. By translating this ambitious vision into reality and after two years of painstaking research, a new breed of sporty yacht was handcrafted in the UK, namely the 37-ft long AM37.

This revolutionary vessel utilises the latest technology, materials and engineering principles and is reminiscent of the superior comfort and style found in an Aston Martin car. In fact, the collaborators argue that the DNA of the Aston Martin car is stamped throughout the AM37. Every element of the boat's design has been refined to the last detail to serve a specific purpose.

The AM37 boasts a deep V hull with steps to lower surface contact with the water and to ensure a smooth run. With the hull composed of robust composite and epoxy resin, it brings strength and durability to the speedboat.

Like something from a James Bond set, the vessel comes complete with top-of-the-range features that include a convertible sofa, mood lighting, air-conditioning, a retractable swimming platform and a deluxe champagne cooler. A table converts into a bed to create an overnight berth, although the AM37 has been designed as a day cruiser. Up to eight guests can sit back and relax on seating made from the most exquisite leather.

A mobile app and a touchscreen dashboard remotely control the boat - at the touch of a button, three lightweight carbon panels can cover the cockpit. Fine leather and polished metals have been used on many features of the vessel's dashboard, including the throttle handles and steering wheel. Advanced multimedia functions come as standard, with an integrated control monitor, navigation and entertainment system.

Two versions of the AM37 have been produced - the AM37 comes with a top speed of 45 knots and the AM37S has the power to achieve 50 knots.

"Quintessence Yachts approached Phoenix Marine Solutions to specify and develop the hydraulic systems for the stunning AM37. We worked closely with the Phoenix Design Engineers and management team to ensure the systems on board are the most innovative, robust and reliable for the demanding operational environment of our high-performance powerboat."
