At the end of September this year, some of the world's most luxurious vessels anchored in Monaco for the 27th annual Monaco Yacht Show. Over four days, more than 33,000 people gathered to be wowed by the extravagance of 125 yachts, averaging an eye-watering price tag of £25 million. Here are some of the beauties that featured at the show.

Apogee

Easily accommodating 16/18 guests, this luxurious superyacht was refitted in 2009 and features exquisite Franco and Anna Della Role interiors. Guests can get from the lower deck to the sun deck by elevator, where they can enjoy the use of a Jacuzzi, air-conditioned gym and two bars. With just one previous owner (a Florida property developer), the yacht is currently for sale by Merle Wood & Associates.

Jubilee

The largest yacht to feature at the show, Netherlands-based Jubilee measures a whopping 110m. Built by Oceano, it features a large swimming pool with built-in aquarium, six decks and it can accommodate 31 guests in 15 staterooms. Currently for sale through Burgess, the yacht is said to be valued at US$ 310 million - Qatar’s royal family previously owned it.

Aquarius

Measuring 92m long, this stylish superyacht boasts interior and exterior styling by Sinot Exclusive Yacht Design and naval architecture by Feadship Do Voogt. Owned by a respected art collector, this sleek vessel can accommodate 14 guests and boasts six VIP staterooms. State-of-the-art anchor stabilisers boost on-board comfort when the vessel is stationary.

Quite Essential

At 55m, this sleek yacht epitomises luxury for up to 12 guests. It was originally built for a shareholder of the Russian Synergy Group. Features include massage rooms, a spa pool and waterfall, a Jacuzzi, a sauna and a state-of-the-art gym. For those with deep pockets, this boat costs a mere £33 million. In the 2012 World Superyachts Awards, Quite Essential made it to the finals.

Skyfall

Built in 2010 by Trinity Yachts for prolific superyacht owner, John Staluppi, who has a penchant for naming vessels after James Bond films, this yacht has since been refitted with interiors by prize-winning designer Patrick Knowles. Skyfall measures 57m and comes loaded with impressive cruising features. It currently costs around £20 million and is the biggest Bahamas-friendly superyacht that is capable of docking in shallow bays and marinas. 17 guests can lavish in luxury on this vessel, in seven exquisite staterooms.

Legend

Owner, Jan Verkerk, built superyacht, Legend, with fun in mind. Complete with heli-pad, submarine and ice-breaking hull, the 7,600-mile range yacht certainly has the wow factor. Securing the prize of best rebuild project of the year in Florence, the yacht accommodates up to 26 guests and boasts contemporary features including a movie theatre, grand piano, spa, pool and gym.
